Inkfrog

Inkfrog is a well established auction software management tool. Inkfrog has been around since 1999 and during their 10 years of existence Inkfrog has been able to perfect their product by listening to their community and constantly improving. Inkfrog allows you to list, schedule, customize, and manage your auctions all from one easy to use interface.

Inkfrog features an extensive inventory management system that will alert you when you need to order more products, and prevent you from selling a product you don’t have. This is all made possible because your inventory is connected to your post sale and scheduling rules, when inventory is low you will be notified to order more, and if you are out of stock auctions will stop launching.

If making your auctions look good is important to you, Inkfrog has you covered there too. You will be able to choose from over 2,000 pre-built auction templates. If those are still too plain, you are free to create and use your own custom templates along with short tags. With Inkfrog’s one page editor you can use these templates to create auctions swiftly and easily. You can even bulk edit existing auctions and add predefined globals.

Inkfrog makes hosting your images easy with their image management software. With 3 different uploader’s, an image editor and image sorting and viewing tools InkFrog makes adding images to eBay auctions easier than ever. Another great feature that Inkfrog boasts is the ability to add a gallery showcase to your auctions. This is a great way to add cross promotion to each of your auctions.

Inkfrog is a complete auction management tool, they bring just about every feature to the table. Other things Inkfrog offers are the ability to edit current live listings, auto emails, auto feedback and great support.

Editor Review

I was skeptical that Inkfrog would be a good management tool, but when Auctiva started charging a fee I decided to give them a try. I am happy to say I still use them well beyond my 14 day free trial and I encourage you to check them out.

One of the biggest pluses for me was the ability to use a custom template. I have yet to find a free auction template that meets my needs, so being able to use Inkfrog along with my custom template was nice. Using the short codes was a breeze and allowed me to easily add content into my template based on the listing creator.

As with any good auction management solution the pre and post sale features have to be plentiful and this is something that Inkfrog excels at. Inkfrog allows you to quickly schedule your auctions for anytime in the future, and they even let you setup post sale auto-relist rules. These rules allow you to tell Inkfrog when an item should be relisted based on either your inventory or if an item is sold. I really like the inventory feature because it allows me to launch an auction once and have it relist until it was sold out.

Another great feature that Inkfrog offers are “globals”. Globals allow you to edit your listings in bulk by selecting multiple listings and adding a global to them. However this is only the start of the fun, because Inkfrog even lets you edit live listings which is a feature I have not found in many auction management solutions.

All in all Inkfrog has been a very positive asset to my auction management repertoire. However this review wouldn’t be complete without a couple complaints. Firstly I would have to say their reporting feature is lacking and that is definitely something they are working on the reporting tab still says “We will be rolling out our reports suite with graphing shortly.” I am looking forward to seeing that new feature when it is available.

The other complaint I had is the quality of the pre-built templates. The Inkfrog community recently asked for new templates and in my opinion the nearly 500 new templates are more of the same plain, ugly templates. The good news is you can use your own custom template like I do, and you can even find some great Inkfrog templates in the freebies section.
