Select a template.

At the top of the page select “Design”. This is where you will be selecting your free template you would like to use (Basic). Go through all the tabs in “Design” to make sure you have your ad the way you want it to look. If you do not like any of the free basic templates you can add money to your supreme account so you can purchase more advanced templates.

Select any extras.

At the top select “Extras”. If you would like your old feedback to scroll at the bottom of your ad to let your customers know you have satisfied other customers select “activate”. This feature will only show positive feedback so don’t worry about it showing negative feedback if you have received any. The gallery widget shows all other ads you have posted on eBay in this ad. This is a great way to cross market your products and draws more customers to your ads.

Save and upload your ad.

Select the “Preview” tab to show your ad in its entirety. Look over your ad and make sure everything is spelled correctly and looking the way you would like it too. Once you are happy with your ad you are ready to publish it to eBay. Select the “Finish” tab and it will bring you to a screen and show you how much your ad will cost to publish to eBay. These fees will go to your eBay account and they are called eBay fees. If you would like to save your ad and come back to it later click “Project Manager” this is where you can save, load, open, and even preload your account with money for more advanced templates. Good luck! Follow these steps and you will also agree with me that Supreme Auction is an amazing free service to help enhance your eBay ads and make selling products much easier and faster.

For any ebay seller, creating good looking listings without spending too much time is the biggest challenge. No one wants to spend hours creating listings before it gets launched on to eBay. Sellers want the ability to easily set up their information in a template form and reuse a lot of that information like Payment Terms, Shipping Terms etc over and over again. One of the biggest factors in attracting buyers to your listings is how well laid out all the information is. Buyers look for specific sections with an item to quickly get answers to their questions about a listing, be it, product details, seller contact info or payment terms.

AuctionLinc’s multi tab lister is a uniquely designed Lister Interface to take care of all the above mentioned goals and needs of ebay Sellers.

Each tab groups related pieces of information to help you easily find the section that you want to fill or change. This is a much better user experience than a large form where you are constantly scrolling up and down.

Use the template selector located on the top of the listing form to select pre-defined Listing template which will populate your current Listing Form with data from Listing Template.

Use AuctionLinc’s WYSIWYG HTML editor widget to create nice looking HTML description for your Listing. The editor provides a variety of HTML formatting capabilities via its toolbar. You can also copy and paste any Word Content and retain any formatting that comes with the content. This is an extremely fast way to create HTML content without knowing HTML syntax.

Selecting images for your listing cannot be any easier than how AuctionLinc does it. Simply click on Add Images for Listing button and you will be able to select the images you want to include in your listing. You can also select from one of the 3 image layouts available. Finally select from an HTML Template AuctionLinc’s template library to spice up your Listing HTML.

You can also choose to embed AuctionLinc’s cross marketing widget that will display your other live items in a scrolling widget. Very nice way to cross sell your items. See an example below:

Finally you can do a variety of actions like Preview and Verify to make sure your listings will appear the way you want it to when launched as well as to check there are no validation errors in listing data.

AuctionLinc’s lister is fresh and intuitive and does not scare away users or requires a lot of help or documentation. Whether you are creating a one off item or listing hundreds of items, this Lister serves both needs extremely well.

We here at eBayAppReview.com are big on pointing out ways that you can be better than your competition. Even though eBay is the ultimate open and competitive marketplace you can do things to get a leg up on your competition. One thing that you can and should be doing is taking quality, professional looking product images. This post will point out the things you need to take quality product photos along with techniques to make your auctions stand out with crisp product images.

First lets see some examples of what we are looking for

These are the type of images that really make an auction stand out!

Now Lets List the Things That You Should Have:

Digital Camera- This should be atleast 2 megapixels, and you dont need anything above 4mp because in the end your images are not going to be much bigger than 300-500 pixels

1-2 Tripod/ Light Stands- This is what you plug the light bulb into. Generally a tripod that is 4-5 feet tall with a swiveling head will provide enough lighting options.

1-2 Umbrellas or PhotoBox- If you do both large and small items you will need both of these. The photobox is all you need for smaller items. The umbrellas allow you to photograph larger items on a white background.

1-2 Light Bulbs-This is the most important thing you are purchasing. Afterall when you really break this process down, we are trying to shine an even amount of artificial daylight on our product. When you throw in the white background you get quality professional images for your eBay auctions.

Camera Tripod(optional)- Some people like to keep the camera very steady while taking their product photo and this is where the camera tripod really helps. I have found this is not a requirement.

Some Advice

When all is said and done you can expect to spend around $300- $400 dollars on all of this stuff, but most of that will be spent on the digital camera which many of us already have. If you already have a camera the other accessories should only cost around $100-$150 dollars. It is recommended that you shop online because online prices will be much less than your local photography store. For even more savings checkout this article which describes the process of creating your own homemade light box.

When it comes to taking the photo the best advice I can give you is to use plenty of light. You can get away with one light, but I find that using two provides better results. With two lights you will find that you don’t have to move your tripods because your entire “photo studio” will be lit up. Also you have to make sure that you set your cameras lighting settings to match up to the light that you are using. For example most photography light bulbs are either going to be tungsten or fluorescent, so you will need to set your camera up for this setting.

In the end it really just comes down to your own experimentation with your camera and lighting. It can take time to get it right, but eventually you will be taking quality product photos that will make your eBay auction really stand out. If you have any questions about taking quality photos for your eBay auction please post them in the comments section and I will be sure to help.

If you have downloaded any of our many Inkfrog templates you may have noticed that they use a set image height and width. In my opinion this is the best way to go for any auction as it provides more of a uniform look to your eBay auction. All of our templates are designed to be used with images that stand 300 pixels tall and 400 pixels wide. With a little bit of work this standard image size can be changed to anything you like. However you will always want to use all of the same size images and each auction should contain 4 images.

This tutorial is designed to show you how to add images to your auction.

1. Navigate To Images

To get started we need to either already have images in the Inkfrog system or we need to add images. For this tutorial lets assume that you don’t already have images saved. So in order to manage your images you first must navigate to Images in the main menu.

2. Select Upload to Open Dialogue Box

Now you can upload the images that you have saved on your hard drive. Remember that all of our templates require a 300 pixel tall by 400 pixel wide image. Also each template uses 4 images by default and it is recommended that you use all four images. It may be necessary to create a few different profiles for the different size images and number of images you plan to use in your auctions. Otherwise you can do what I do and use 4 images that are 400 x 300 in each auction.

3. Browse and Upload Images

Now that the dialogue box is open you can choose as many pictures as you need and click Upload Images to save them in the Inkfrog system. Once you have images saved in the system you can conveniently add them to any auction.

4. Navigate to The Listings Tab

Now that we have some images saved to the system it is time to create a new auction. To do this we need to navigate to the Listings tab in the main menu.

5. Select New Listing

When we select New Listing the Auction Detail Dialogue box will open up and we can begin to create our Inkfrog Auction. If you have not already done so check out the tutorial on adding a template to Inkfrog this explains how to create a profile with a custom template. When you have a profile created the New Listing button will use your default template as the starting point for the auction. This makes creating your auction easier by eliminating the need to add a template and other details to each auction.

6. Scroll To Pictures

Scroll to the pictures area of the Auction Detail dialogue box and you will be able to choose the images that we saved earlier. The other option is to Upload Images directly from this dialogue box which will allow you to both save images to your current auction and add images to the system.

7. Save Listing and Your Done

Now you can save your work and your new auction will be created with both images and a custom template that look great!

If you have any questions on this process please ask it in the comment form below. I plan to add a tutorial on how to change the size of the images used in the template soon. It is also possible to use any number of images in the template. If you would like any custom work done please use the contact form above to ask for help.

Once you have your custom Auctiva Template created and ready to go the next step is to either create an auction or save a new Item Details Profile that contains your template. This tutorial will walk you through the process of creating a new listing, however creating an item details profile is the same process with the main difference being that the profile is intended for later use. If you haven’t done so already be sure to check out the tutorial on Adding a New Template to Auctiva.

1. Create New Auction

Our first step is to navigate to the Create New button under the Listings tab. This will take us to the Create eBay Listing page and will allow us to add our item details and ultimately our Auctiva Template.

2. Select a Template

At any point during the auction creation process you can click the Select Template and this will open a new window that will allow us to choose the template that we added in the previous tutorial, or any template for that matter.

3. Choose Custom Template

Under “Select Templates” is a list of template categories that we can choose. Our template is a custom template so it only makes sense to choose this option. Once you select “Custom” all of your custom templates will display on the right hand side.

4. Select a Template

Now that our templates are shown on the right hand side we can choose to preview or select a template. So click select and the dialogue box will close and we will have our auction set up and ready to go with our custom template!

5. Finish Creating the Auction and Your Done

That is all there is to the process. Thanks for taking the time to follow this tutorial, I hope it has been a help. If you have any questions feel free to ask them in the comment form below. If you haven’t done so already be sure to check out our Free Auctiva Templates.

Creating a new auction with Inkfrog is a very intuitive and easy process. Creating an auction with a custom Inkfrog template adds only a few steps to this process. This post will cover some of the ways our templates use Inkfrog short tags and some of the things you will want to understand before getting started. If you have not done so already you may want to read the previous tutorial on adding a custom template to Inkfrog.

So without further ado lets get to the steps.

1. Click New Listing

The first step as you might guess is to click New Listing from within the Listings page. This will pop open a window that will allow us to get started with creating the auction.

2. Select a Template

Scroll down until you see the select a template area of the Auction Detail page. Click select and you will be presented with another pop up window where you can select one of your saved custom templates.

3. Add Your Description, Payment Terms and Shipping Terms

Now that you have a template added to this auction you can begin to add the content to the auction. This includes the Description, Payment Terms and Shipping Terms. All three of these will be inserted in the correct place in the auction automatically. This is accomplished by using the Inkfrog short tags within the template code.

4. Finish Adding the Auction Details

Now you will want to make sure you have filled in all of the required auction details. This includes but is not limited to the title, price, category, Paypal email and inventory information.

5. Save Your Work

The first time I do this process I usually fill out information that is repetitive like Shipping Terms, Paypal Email and Shipping information. I then Save As a Profile which makes creating auctions even faster in the future. Alternatively you can save the listing to your library or launch the auction. In any case it is always a good idea to Check for Errors and Fees.

That’s all there is to it. After completing this quick tutorial you should have an auction created with a custom Inkfrog template. If you have any questions on this process please feel free to ask them in the comment form below.

If you plan to use your own custom template with Auctiva you will need to first add that template to Auctiva. This is a very easy process that only takes a few steps. This tutorial will assume that you are using one of our custom Auctiva templates but this is the same process you will use with a template you have created.

The steps include…

1. Navigate To Create New

Once you are logged in you can navigate to the Create New Custom Template by hovering over Listings. This will bring us to a page that will allow us to start editing a new template or paste already created HTML code.

2. Copy the Template File

We are going to assume that you are using a template that has already been created. In that case you will want to open the file for your template and select all of the text. Then you can right click and choose copy. Now the template is saved to your clipboard and we will paste it in the editor during the next step.

3. Give Your New Template a Name and Paste the Code

Now that your template is copied you can return back to the Auctiva Custom Templates page and give your new Template a Name. Then you will want to move your cursor to the editor box, right click and select paste. Now you should see the code from your template in the editor box. The alternative is to use the custom tags and HTML to create your own template. Our custom Auctiva Templates use the Title, Description, Shipping, Payment, Terms of Service, About Me and Image short tags.

4. Save Your Template

Now the only thing left to do is to save your work. You can either save and preview at the same time to ensure that everything is displaying as expected or you can Save As New.

So that wraps up the process of adding a custom template to Auctiva. If you have any questions on this process please ask them in the comment form below.
